Needs Housing Assistance in Atlanta or Tallahassee

I am 25 yrs old and 5wks pregnant I want to keep the child it would be my first one. 1wk and half ago I was laid off my job. Im signed up for school all this happened before I knew about being pregnant. I will get unemployment it kicks in next mth. Im really just looking for housing I currently live with my dad he will not allow me to live here pregnant but I do want to keep my child. Im also seeking part-time work. I currently live in Atlanta but I am interested in relocating to Tallahassee, Fl I want to be a Forensic scientist or Crime scene investigator Atlanta doesnt offer either program as a degree program. I do have a plan I just need housing asap. Im very bright, adjusting and finding a job wont be a problem. I do have some income but because I have a carnote Im limited to how much I can pay on bills. So housing and finding a job are my two top priorities. Thanks

I am a young woman in the Atlanta area and I need to have dental surgery and have a full mouth make-over. I went to Clear Choice and they were great, professional and I can have a brand new mouth of teeth in one day. Only problem was I was turned down by the finance company. I have faith that someone will read this post and be moved by God to be a blessing to me in Atlanta or where ever you are.  The lady was so nice to me and she said after I was turned down....If you can find someone ELSE with good credit who can co-sign for you, then we will start your procedure.

Not having a pretty smile has stopped my social life and even witnessing to others. It is very sad. I don't even talk to my family because of shame. All teeth need to be pulled, the only thing stopping me is finances. I have prayed, fasted, decreed and sowed seed(tithed) on this situation. Now I am stepping out in faith and ASKING for someone to help me. Clear Choice will not start the surgery for me unless I have 30,0000 !!!! All things are possible with God and nothing is too hard for Him and I know He may even use a complete stranger to be a blessing. I work as receptionist and need some financial aid as soon as possible. I use to be a model but can no longer smile.

I have prayed for three years and I know that God has people in Atlanta that have the resources to be a blessing in this area.  I pray for a miracle. Thank you Jesus.

JobStart Mike

About JobStart Mike

Hello, My name is Michael and I am the founder of a new organization to help people get a second chance in the corporate world. Here is a little bit of my story, and what has motivated me to start JobStart America.

To begin with, I am a convicted felon that has made some bad choices in life. For these choices, I have paid a severe price. My freedom was taken away from me and I spent time in prison for my crime. The crime that I committed was not of a violent nature at all and I take full responsibility for my actions. I am sorry for the things that I put my family and friends through, as well as those that were affected by my crimes. The crime and the duration of my incarceration are not important. What is important is that I have paid my debt to society according to the laws of the land and have since, become a productive member of society.

What has happened in my life since these crimes were committed has been very hard for me to handle, because I am now labeled, by society as a bad person, untrustworthy, a risk, and unworthy. It took me a while to realize that I am none of these things. I am a husband, a father, a friend, a trusted employee, and a straight A student studying Computer Information Systems.

I have faced hardship in the following areas: finding gainful employment, voting, and also denied housing because of my record. After I left prison, I put myself through school to become a Computer Programmer, and was able to find great employment as a contractor with then BellSouth. I worked with BellSouth for a period of eight years, seven of which was as the Lead Data Analyst for their Learning Support Services Division. Then one day things changed for me and life would never be the same. September 11, 2001.

Safe Families for children in need

Volunteers open their homes to children whose parents are experiencing a short-term emergency, such as hospitalization, or a longer-term crisis, such as drug abuse. Designed to extend and strengthen the community safety net for at-risk families, Safe Families is a positive alternative to the state child welfare system, allowing parents to work out their problems without having to worry about losing custody of their kids. The program's goal is to reunite children with their biological parent(s) in a home that is more stable and healthy, in part because of the contribution of the Safe Families intervention.

Parents experiencing a temporary crisis can arrange for their children (newborn through 16 years old) to stay with Safe Families volunteers while they address the issues that led to the instability in their lives. Children are matched with families in their own community whenever possible, and placements average from one day to three months. During that time, Safe Families caseworkers are available to provide volunteers with support and answer any questions they might have.

HELLO, AND GOD BLESS, MY NAME IS CYNTHIA, AND I AM WRITING THIS LETTER ON BEHALF OF MY FAMILY OF 8, 6 CHILDREN AND 2 ADULTS WHO RESIDES HERE IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA. WE HAVE HAD TO RELOCATE, DUE TO FORECLOSURE OF OUR HOME, BASED ON A LANDLORD FAILING TO PAY THE MORTGAGE. WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING AFFORDABLE HOUSING. WE NOW RESIDE IN A HOTEL ROOM IN MIDTOWN ATLANTA, THE SAVANNAH SUITES AND WE ARE IN DESPARATE NEED OF HELP WITH RENT. I AM ASKING FOR $6500.00 BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF RENT HERE AT THE HOTEL FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 MOS TIME, AND TO FIX THE FAMILY CAR . WE HAVE A 1994 CARAVAN, THAT IS IN DESPARATE NEED OF A REPAIR, (NEEDS NEW STARTER, AND A NEW TIRES AND A NEW FUEL TANK, AND A TUNE UP). I AM HOPING THIS WILL BUY US SOME TIME TO GET BACK TO WORK AND ME TO SCHOOL TO MAKE A BETTER LIFE FOR MY FAMILY. THE AMOUNT IS ALSO FOR CLOTHES BADLY NEEDED FOR THE KIDS.

HOTEL STAY FOR 6 MONTHS WOULD BE $4080, - (@ $680 A MONTH)

CAR REPAIR WOULD BE $1200

CLOTHING FOR THE 6 KIDS $203.33

MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN BATTLING CANCER FOR 2 YRS NOW AND WE ARE JUST BARELY SURVIVING. WE NOW ARE USING OUR INCOME TAX RETURN FOR 09 TO SURVIVE. BUT OUR STAY IS NEARING ITS END VERY SOON WEDNESDAY FEB. 25TH, 2009

WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR WORK, HOWEVER, IT HAS BEEN VERY DIFFICULT, WITH THE RECENT RELOCATION AND THE BREAK DOWN OF THE FAMILY VEHICLE. WE WOULD LIKE TO STAY HERE IN THE HOTEL FOR A WHILE, BECAUSE, IT WOULD HELP TO ENSURE THAT WE KEEP THE ROOF OVER OUR HEADS WITH RUNNING WATER AND ELECTRIC, PLUS THE DESPARATELY NEEDED ONLINE SERVICE TO FURTHER MY EDUCATION, IN THE EFFORTS TO MAKE A BETTER LIF FOR MY FAMILY, AND TO HOMESCHOOL THE CHILDREN.

RIGHT NOW WITH ALL THE EXPENSES OF RUNNING A HOME, IT IS NOT FEASIBLE TO ENTER INTO RENTING A HOME NOW. WITH PAYING RENT(APPROXIMATELY $900-$1700), AND WATER, AND ELECTRIC OR GAS EXPENSES, PLUS TRANSPORTATION AND MERE MAINTENANCE OF THE FAMILY, IT IS FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE TO STAY AT THE HOTEL, (ALTHOUGH WE WOULD LIKE ANOTHER ROOM TO ADD SPACE FOR EVERYONE). BEING AT THE SAVANNAH SUITES IS THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR NOW UNTIL ME AND MY HUSBAND FIND JOBS TO SUSTAIN US ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS.

I WANT TO THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE IN THIS MATTER. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!

About AndyAtl

Hello all, I never have done anything like this before, but here goes.

I have been out of work for a while, my wife is also out of work due to just having a baby. I work in the legal field and she is a nurse. I have been interviewing like crazy and she is on her way back in 2 weeks. We have 2 other children as well. Children never know the situation, just that "things" are always taken care of. I need any help possible to pay my rent for March.

I live in the Atlanta, GA area and have faith that we are going to get back on track. It doesn't feel good having to ask anyone for help, but I don't have any other options at this point. Please respond if you think you can help. Willing to repay anything received. Thank you for reading.

I'm a mother of three wonderful girls',living in Atlanta Ga. I'm currently working two jobs and having to raise these three kids by myself with no man around to help me out. At times I tell you, it gets really tough and hard with no food and money to help support us. I KNOW AS A MOTHER, I have done all I can do to provide for my kids but in the current suitation my family will be forced to move into a shelter or out in the street. Please I'm asking for your help to help keep my family together, with a child that is barely 2yrs not knowing how to feed her it's a pain noone or a mother should ever had to go through in life.

Having utilities in the house cut off one-by-one and having to struggle and pay one at a time is a disgrace to me and me as a mother, at times I get so scared that I don't know which one of them will go off next. I just need help from you, pleaseeeeeeeeee help me. I don't want to loose my kids or my house due to foreclosure or to the system because I was not taking care of them,I know as of next month we will be in the street but God knows I've done my best to provide for my babies.

Having no health insurance  and enough money to pay for one it's hard, knowing fully well that if any of my kids get sick I'm totally out of luck. I will have to watch my baby die due to no insurance.  I'm a single mother of three,I don't drink or smoke, should I have to be in this pain and struggles at this time of my life. I'm only asking for someone to please find it in their heart to help me. I'm dieing slowly of pain help meeeeee. Please email me at cryingmother01@yahoo.com with your helps. In distres...

Hi, I am a single mother, or 3 young children.  I work at a fast food restaurant to pay my bills and take care of my children.  My rent is 1,000 a month which I am unable to pay!! Someone close to the family helped me get into this house and agreed to help me pay part of the rent.  Well they are now having to have back surgery and the help they were going to be able to offer is now not able to happen.. I am looking for a cheaper place, but in the mean time for the month, I am very behind on my rent and bills.  I desperately need help paying it until I can get moved into somewhere cheaper.  The whole reason I even agreed to move into such an expensive home was because of the room it has. But now I realized I just won't be able to afford it.  Thank you for your help and concerns...

Ashamed to smile

I am a full time student desperately trying to get my degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education.  I work while attending school, just to make ends meet.  I can't afford health insurance and I have thousands of dollars of dental work that needs to be done, including a cavity in my front tooth that makes me incredibly embarassed to smile.  To make matters worse, I have a deathly fear dentist.  My parents stopped taking me when I was 7 and had a panic attack in the chair and I was injured and the dentist yelled at me.  I was sexually abused for 9 years and I believe that I experience flashbacks while in the dental chair. The last dentist I went to asked me to leave because my tears were making him nervous.  I am a completely normal person in my real life, but the dentist just truly scares me.  I have dreams of going into politics and non profit work to change public education, yet I can't do that without being able to show the smile I rely on.  I am asking for any help or guidance that can help me to get over my fear and make me smile again.

I live in the Atlanta area.
